Artec 3D opens office in Japan to strengthen support for clients and resellers in the region
April 13, 2023 | Luxembourg Artec 3D, a world-renowned developer and manufacturer of professional 3D scanners and software, today announces the opening of an office in Tokyo, Japan, a new venture that comes after a more than 15-year presence in Japan through Artec 3D’s resellers.
Established in one of Artec 3D’s key markets, the new office will primarily focus on supporting the company’s many existing clients, as well as new clients and resellers, in both training and technical support. It will also allow Artec 3D to stay closely connected to this market, and respond directly and swiftly to the needs of resellers and clients, while also connecting them to Artec resellers and offices around the globe. The office is the latest addition to Artec 3D’s global presence, which now includes the head office and production center in Luxembourg, offices in the United States, Montenegro, and China, as well as a network of over 160 global authorized resellers spanning more than 65 countries.
“We’re delighted and very excited to open this new office in Tokyo after more than 15 years of successful partnerships with our partners Data Design and OPT Technologies who service clients in Japan and the region,” said President and CEO of Artec 3D Art Yukhin. “Japan is a very special place to us both in terms of relationships with our clients and business opportunities, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with all our resellers.”
Artec 3D’s comprehensive line of 3D scanning solutions includes professional long-range, handheld, and desktop scanners, which are all compatible with its proprietary 3D scanning software. These technologies are critical for quality control, reverse engineering, inspection, and design tasks across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, engineering, medicine, historic preservation, education, entertainment, and more.
“I have known Artec 3D for many years; Artec 3D is among the companies that, with their products, add value to society,” said Luxembourg Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Pierre Ferring. “I am happy to see them establishing a presence in Japan. In view of the technological excellence of Artec’s products and the love of Japanese people for quality, I am convinced of the success of Artec 3D Japan.”
Professional scanning solutions from Artec 3D play a key role in Japan, and are in use by leading brands such as Toyota and ASICS, as well as civil and educational facilities and organizations. One Japanese company that specializes in aircraft customization, Tech Strake, uses Artec Eva and Space Spider to customize helicopters, equipping them with cameras for use in search and rescue missions, patrolling, for film and television projects, and land and terrain scanning by the Geographical Survey Institute. In the manufacturing sphere, leading athletic apparel manufacturers ASICS utilize the Artec Space Spider for digitizing their industry-leading footwear in the highest resolution, to be used for quality inspection and marketing purposes.
