3D scanning tools for CAD and reverse engineering at SOLIDWORKS World 2017
The developer of leading CAD & CAM solutions that are used by some 3 mln designers and engineers worldwide, Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. will welcome its partners and customers at the annual tradeshow SOLIDWORKS World in Los Angeles, CA. The show will run in parallel with more than 200 breakout sessions on topics ranging from design automation and electrical design to simulation and product data management.
Team Artec will be demoing Eva and Space Spider 3D scanners, which are professional metrological devices that capture objects’ sharpest edges and thinnest ribs in fine detail and render their texture in brilliant color. The 3D models obtained using Artec scanners can be exported into SOLIDWORKS software, directly from Artec Studio 11, the latest version of Artec’s cutting-edge 3D imaging software that simplifies work with 3D data by applying automatic post-processing algorithms.
Artec Studio to SOLIDWORKS export is facilitated by the use of Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS and DezignWorks plugins integrated with Artec Studio 11, which can be purchased alone or as part of Artec’s scan to CAD bundles at special rates.
The high accuracy of the 3D models created with Artec scanners allows for using them in a variety of industries, in particular to reverse engineer existing products and develop new designs.
