Golden Tiger

Tiger, tiger, burning bright, marking a dazzling new start to a brand new Lunar year! When the Year of the Tiger comes around, ferocious felines dominate the scene, and what better way to commemorate this auspicious occasion than with a 3D scan of a golden tiger?

Using Artec Space Spider, an excellent high-resolution blue-light technology device designed for capturing intricate details in steadcast accuracy and vibrant color, we were able to take this delightful ornament and bring it to your screen in 3D.

While admiring this glorious beast – and we highly recommend you have a good look around, taking special care to zoom into the fine details! – you might wonder if the shininess of the object caused any challenges. We’re glad to report that while it might have been very tricky indeed to capture data from this rather shiny tiger, there was an easy solution: Artec Studio’s texture brightness setting. Adjusting this setting before scanning, we were able to scan the big cat and, during the texture mapping step of processing, increased the brightness to restore this golden predator to her original brightness and glory.

All in, the scanning took only 15 minutes, and processing added another 20. And now we present this beautiful golden tiger for a bright Lunar New Year ahead – we hope it also brings you lots of good luck and fortune!
